inciting is the umbrella for a growing consortium of musicians, djs, promoters, visual artists, and various physical and mental supporters. we host musical events in philadelphia, many of which take place at our own venue, inciting hq. the first inciting event was held at lava zone in west philly on 08.22.06 and featured eats tapes [tigerbeat6, sf]. while many of our events are rooted in electronic music, we also host rock, jazz, ‘experimental,’ noise…pretty much anything that we like. as of 12.20.07, the musicians directly associated with inciting are pandemix [dj/inciting founder], jason carr [live electronics/dj], knife_jams [live electronics], infra tester [live electronics], mad [live electronics], gitano[dj] & voodoo economics [live ‘post-rock’ band]
